Tuku, Charambas join forces

It will be a show like no other in the Harare Gardens on November 2 when gospel giants Pastor Charles Charamba and wife Olivia join forces with Oliver Mtukudzi and the Blacks Spirits for a family show.
Show promoter Biggie Chinoperekwi was excited about the gig saying it took a year to put it together.
“This show is going to be unique because it is set to bring together a mixed crowd although we predict the show is going to be a gospel one. We are happy that this is finally happening because we attempted to do this last year but failed because Tuku was not well,” he said.

“Most of the time, music superstar Tuku holds his shows at night. Some of his fans then lose out as a result but this show is an opportunity for them to see the superstar in action. We have not included any supporting acts because we do not want to dilute the mix,” he said.

The Charambas with Tuku are by far the most successful musicians making waves in the country and abroad. They have established and maintained their brands from their early days to become the influential artistes they are today.

Mtukudzi, who recently celebrated his 61st birthday, is only getting better with age while the Charambas are spreading their wings, regionally and globally.

This weekend the Fishers of Men are billed to perform in Cape Town. Ngoni Chandiwana, who manages the gospel couple, promised fans a great show.

“We recently resumed regional and international tours after a long break when he was studying. Everything is coming together now and the response, especially from our most recent tour of Australia, is amazing,” he said.
