FANS of superstar Oliver Mtukudzi who missed his show in Bulawayo last week, have an opportunity to watch him live when he performs at The Groove Nite Club on December 17. The show, dubbed Acoustic Solo Night, will be a one man show as the legendary musician is expected to perform without his band.
Nkululeko Sibanda, co-organiser of the show, said the Dande hit-maker’s fans should be geared for a good show as it was specially packaged for them.
“The acoustic solo act is going to be the first of its nature in the city of Bulawayo. It’s also an early Christmas present for his fans in Bulawayo as it has been designed to be a warm up show after his South African tour.
“We’ve our resident DJs ready to warm our patrons before Tuku comes on stage,” he said.
Sibanda said tickets are $15 advance and they are available at the Groove Nite Club. $20 will be charged at the door. The legendary superstar is no stranger to the City of Kings.
He has performed at the Rainbow hotel’s President Room, Bulawayo Amphitheatre and City Hall.
Mtukudzi was recently bestowed with an honorary doctor of philosophy degree by the Great Zimbabwe University for his outstanding contribution to the arts and entertainment industry in the country and beyond.
Tuku’s illustrious career, spanning over 30 years, has seen him release chart topping albums like Ndipeiwo Zano, Nyanga Yenzou, Bvuma and recently Mukombe Wemvura. He has over 50 albums to his name.
