Tuku, Sulu share stage in Chinhoyi

A lot is expected when top musicians Oliver Mtukudzi, Suluman Chimbetu and Soul Jah Love perform at CSC Club in Chinyoyi tonight. It will be the first time for Mtukudzi to perform Chinhoyi this and he is expected to give his fans the best. The musician has an album “Mukombe WeMvura” that has become the darling of many music lovers in the country.

It has songs “Feso”, “Yave” and “Mukombe Wemvura” that contains not only rich instruments but powerful messages.

He has some party songs like “Patapata” that make fans dance whenever he plays them.

On the other hand Sulu will be expected to complement Mtukudzi.

The two have two duets “Idah Nhoro” and “Kwedu” that is usually referred to as “Kata” by music lovers.

Whenever these two musicians share stage for these two songs fans get excited.

Ironically Chinhoyi is important for Sulu since his father Simon was buried at Masholand West provincial heroes’ acre in the town.

Last week the nation remembered 10 years since he left us.

Chimbetu though his publicist Joe “Local” Nyamungoma said they were geared for the event.

“We are still celebrating the life of Simon and a lot is expected as we will be performing in our home town,” he said.

He said that is a great opportunity for those in Mashonaland West to come and see the great musicians performing.

“That is a rare opportunity to see such musicians sharing stage especially when commemorating the life of Simon,” he said.

The other act of the night Soul Jah Love has become favourite artist of dancehall fans.

He has a duet “Nyuchi” with Chimbetu that has become an anthem in most public places.

His manager and wife Bounty Lisa said they were looking forward to a great show as they were sharing stage with great musicians.

Organiser of the event Tafadzwa Maridadi said they were looking forward to a great show.
