Other performers on the night will be Ndolwane Super Sounds, Africa Super Sounds and UK-based artiste, DJ Sox.
Entertainment manager at the lodge, Faith Dube said it was great for the lodge to mark its celebrations with a show by an artiste of Mtukudzi’s calibre.
He promised a spectacular show on the night and also said the lodge was proud to be the first to bring Mtukudzi to Plumtree.
“It is such a huge honour for us to be able to bring an artiste of Tuku’s standing for our anniversary celebrations. People should be ready for a stellar display come Friday as we are sure Tuku will not disappoint as this is his first time in Plumtree and he has promised to bring his best for the show. Ndolwane has also promised the same so we look forward to a spectacular show,” he said.
Dube said the fact that Kombani was able to bring an artiste of Tuku’s pedigree showed that they were growing as a venue.
He said in future they wished to achieve more than they already had in their two-year history.
“Kombani is still growing further and the show on Friday is an example of that. We have achieved a lot in the past two years but we are still hungry for more,” said Dube.
He said 2012 had been a good year for Kombani, with achievements including participation in a number of fairs and the awarding of three star status to the lodge.
Dube said people should look for a better and improved Kombani in 2013.
“This was a great year for the lodge as we achieved a lot. However, people should expect more improvements in the future as we plan to improve our facilities and provide better service delivery to clientele that visit the lodge from all corners of the country,” he said.
