Tulisa in court over drugs

Former X Factor judge Tulisa has appeared at Southwark Crown Court charged with “being concerned in” the supply of Class A drugs
The star was named in a newspaper sting as brokering a cocaine deal in a London hotel – a charge she furiously denies.
It was a spectacular fall from grace for the council estate girl come good – who turned her tough upbringing into successful music and presenting career.
Two days after the sting Tulisa was arrested and eventually charged with helping an undercover reporter obtain 13,9g of the Class A drug for £860.

In just 12 months her life has radically changed – she has since split from former Newcastle player Danny Simpson and her flop debut album “The Female Boss” is in the bargain bin.

Today, with her career currently in tatters, Tulisa’s battle is far from over – she will stand trial in July, starting just a day after her 26th birthday.
During the sting operation, the reporter in question offered the singer a £3 million film contract while masquerading as a movie producer. Tulisa and her friends were also flown first class to Las Vegas.

Tulisa’’s lawyer Ben Rose said back in December that his client would be denying the charge.
In a statement he said: “Tulisa has been charged with a serious criminal offence to which she will plead not guilty.” Tulisa has kept a low profile since being charged with drugs offence – her once blossoming career has lain in tatters.

The singer had built an impressive showbiz career with her image as a council estate girl who rose to stardom. She took her first steps to fame in 2000 when she formed N-Dubz with cousin Dino “Dappy” Contostavlos and friend Richard “Fazer” Rawson.

They had eight top 40 hits before splitting up to pursue solo projects in 2011.
She became a household name that year when Simon Cowell gave her a role on the X Factor judging panel. And she went on to win as mentor to girl group Little Mix.
As a solo artist, her first single Young topped the charts, but debut album The Female Boss went on to flop. – Daily Mirror.
