NOMADIC coach Arthur Tutani has parted ways with Castle Lager Premiership new boys Simba Bhora under unclear circumstances.
Tutani, who was the club’s second assistant coach in the technical department led by Tonderai Ndiraya, tendered his resignation at the weekend.
The club’s chairman Isaiah Mupfurutsa confirmed the development in a statement yesterday.
“We take this opportunity to formally announce that one of our coaches, Mr Arthur Chamunorwa Tutani has resigned with immediate effect, due to private reasons that he has shared with the club’s management.
“Coach Tutani has been an integral part of our club and he made history with the club. His name and his historical achievement will never be forgotten.
“As a club, we respect his personal circumstances that led to this conclusion. The club expresses its gratitude for his dedication, professionalism, and contributions to the team’s progress. We wish coach Tutani the best in his future endeavours” said Mupfurutsa
His departure should have signalled a sad day in Shamva. Tutani is credited for championing the Shamva side’s promotion into the Premiership for the first time in history when he led them to the ZIFA Northern Region Soccer League title last year.
The success put him at par with the likes of Bigboy Mawiwi, Lloyd Mutasa, John Nyikadzino and Nesbert Saruchera, in this elite group of coaches that have won the Division One league title three times each.
Previously, he had Premiership experience with clubs such as Monomotapa, Eagles and army side Black Rhinos, where he had held his last topflight job in 2014.
Despite his success with Simba Bhora last season, Tutani was demoted by the club at the start of the current season as he does not have the required CAF A coaching badge.
The club settled for Ndiraya, who was leaving giants Dynamos, and had a three-men coaching department that also included Paul Chimalizeni as first assistant coach, with Ziwanai Kawadza as goalkeepers’ coach.
Tutani’s departure comes as Simba Bhora had recovered from a winless run that had stretched nine games before upstaging log leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars at their Baobab fortress at the weekend.
Simba Bhora had last won a match in April before the weekend upset. Alexander Mandinyenya was the hero of the show with the only goal of the afternoon at Baobab.
The win helped them take their points tally to 16 and find a way out of the red zone.
