Tutani wants to complete fairytale with Axis Solutions Cup victory

ARTHUR Tutani has noted concerning flaws in his team which he has been working to fix ahead of the season-wrapping Axis Solutions Super 8 Cup final against Golden Eagles at Rufaro tomorrow.

The Simba Bhora gaffer has now joined an exclusive company of coaches who have helped lower division football clubs to Premiership promotion.

Tutani sealed the achievement last month but he is still a worried man, especially after his side suffered a shock 1-0 defeat in their final match of the season against Karoi United.

And yesterday, the veteran coach said he was gunning to win the Axis Super Cup to complete a memorable double.

He knows, however, the match against Golden Eagles won’t be a stroll in the park.

“This Axis Solutions final between us and Golden Eagles should be full of fireworks. We are expecting good football given both teams are good ball players.

“There is a lot at stake if you look at it. We have met twice this season upon which we won the first leg 3-1 at home and then we drew 1-1 away. “The competition was stiff and Saturday is no exception. We have already won the league title and we are chasing after the double by adding a second trophy in our cabinet,” said Tutani.

“And I am sure, Golden Eagles, given the competitive rivalry that we have, would not want to lose another trophy to us. They will obviously come at us and throw everything in our direction.

“We are going into this match knowing exactly what we want to achieve. Golden Eagles is a very good side. We have played them before and we know how tough they are as a team. They have very good players who are capable of beating any team in our division.”

The Axis Solutions Super 8 Cup was competed for by the Northern Region Division One Soccer League teams who were in the top-eight at the half-way mark of the season.

Tutani and his Golden Eagles counterpart, former Warriors striker Gilbert Mushangazhike, are also in a tussle for the tournament’s best coach award.

The former Karoi United and Black Rhinos mentor said the match will be tough.

“This is a cup final and it means everything for both Golden Eagles and us. It will be 90 minutes of blood and sweat.

“As Simba Bhora, we have already bagged the league title and we got promoted into the Premier Soccer League. We are walking with a spring in our step and we should have a good chance to win this trophy.

“We have been preparing for this match over the past weeks with particular attention to addressing the flaws which led us to the 1-0 loss to Karoi United in our final league match last month.

“We have also been looking at the areas we were not good enough during the season. We are ready, my boys are ready and come Saturday, we will do what we ought to do to clinch the trophy given we have no issues, including injuries, in our team.”
