Twelve new magistrates have been sworn in as part of the Judiciary Service Commission’s ongoing drive to expeditiously deal with cases.
According to Chief Magistrate Mrs Vongai Guwuriro, the move seeks to strengthen the country’s justice delivery system.
Mrs Guwuriro said the country has 253 magistrates, while the JSC continues to decentralise courts across the country.
She said the Commission is intensifying efforts to improve the efficiency and accessibility of the justice system for all citizens.
