ZIMBABWE international Tendayi Darikwa has captained English League One side Lincoln City to a record-breaking 21-game unbeaten run.
The Imps made it 21 games without a loss after fighting from two goals down to hold Huddersfield to a 2-2 draw on Tuesday night.
They found themselves two goals down in the first 20 minutes but an own goal from Josh Feeny in the 29th minute opened a window for their comeback.
Ryley Towler scored in the 93rd minute for the equaliser.
Lincoln City are top of League One with 81 points, five more than Cardiffand 15 points more than Bolton.
Darikwa scored on Saturday in the 3-1 win over Stockport.
The game was all square until the late goals from Darikwa and substitute Alfie Lloyd settled a hard-fought affair in their favour.
Jack Moylan’s early goal at the LNER Stadium was cancelled out by former Imps loanee Jack Diamond and while County looked the more likely to secure the points, City’s late show cemented their place at the top of the table.
Lincoln boss Michael Skubala thinks his side’s 2-2 draw at Huddersfield could prove to be a “massive point” come the end of the season.
“It was an incredible performance from the group to get that point.
“It wasn’t like us going 2-0 down. We started a bit slow, but when we got going we got the goal back and we thought we could dominate in the second half.
“To come here and have a team like Huddersfield sitting off you is huge respect to the lads, but we have to be better than that.
“Lots of things didn’t work in the first half, we looked too open, but then in the second half we got on top and I felt we were going to score that second. I think that might be massive point for us.”
Skubala had words of praise for hero Towler, adding:
“Ryley has been great when he has come in. The one thing he needs to do is believe in himself a bit more. He’s got great quality and he did a great job for us when he came on.” – Sports Reporter/PA
