A BATTLE of the Generation Z and Millennials is on the cards on the same night in Harare.
Ama2K Fest, scheduled for Saturday, is generating significant buzz among young fans, the so-called Ama2K.
Headlining the event is Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ruger, known for his energetic performances and hit songs, which have dominated charts across Africa.
He will be joined by South African Amapiano star Scotts Maphuma and rising vocalist Naledi Aphiwe.
The local line-up is equally compelling, featuring some of Zimbabwe’s most exciting young talents including Nutty O, Shashl, Bagga, Runna Rulez, Atenda Chinx and Yahya Goodvibes, all expected to bring youthful energy to the stage.
Meanwhile, across town at the Harare International Convention Centre, a more mature crowd will gather for “A Tale of Two Cities,” a show blending Zimbabwean and international influences.
The event will feature a headline performance by music heavyweight Jah Prayzah alongside Jamaican artist Alaine, in what organisers describe as a cultural fusion between Harare and Kingston.
The show will also showcase a strong supporting cast, including Feli Nandi, Voltz JT and Nisha Ts, among others.
In an interview, Gateway Stream Media Manager, Elton Kurima, said the concert celebrates the vibrant musical connection between Zimbabwe and Jamaica and promises an energetic night of entertainment.
“The event will showcase two outstanding headline acts – Zimbabwe’s music superstar Jah Prayzah and Jamaican reggae sensation Alaine.
“They will be supported by a dynamic and energetic line-up of local performers, bringing together a rich blend of musical styles and cultural expression.
“This carefully curated line up is designed to deliver a high-quality, immersive entertainment experience that celebrates the strong cultural ties between Zimbabwe and Jamaica, promising audiences an unforgettable night of music, unity and vibrant performance.”
Kurima said fans can expect an energetic and vibrant night of music and entertainment.
“Alaine is known for her captivating stage presence and dancehall-inspired reggae sound, while Jah Prayzah brings his signature Zimbabwean musical excellence.
“The concert is titled ‘A Tale of Two Cities’, celebrating the coming together of Zimbabwe and Jamaica through music and culture.
“Afro Culture Connect is more than just a concert – it’s a celebration of identity, music, and cultural exchange that unites audiences through shared African and Caribbean heritage.
“Whether you are a fan of Jah Prayzah’s rich Zimbabwean sound or Alaine’s soulful reggae hits, this is a night you won’t want to miss.”
Not to be outdone, the Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex will host the Majeso Festival, which will also serve as the launch of Bling 4’s latest album.
The event boasts a lively line-up featuring Jnr Spragga, Master H, Enzo Ishall, Chillmaster and Runna Rulez, promising yet another high-energy experience.
