IN their bid to expand the game in the city, Bulawayo Provincial Pool Association’s (BPPA) newly formed Reigate District is set to have two new teams, taking its tally to 16.

The two new teams, set to join 14 other teams, which were part of the new Reigate District for the 2024 season are Renegades Pool Club and Mazaiwana Pool Club.

As Renegades and Maziwana became the latest inclusions into the Reigate District, any other team that registers with the sports governing body in the city will also be automatically added to the newly formed district.

“Additionally, all new teams intending to register under BPPA for the 2024 season will automatically join Reigate until a threshold of 18 teams is reached after which the teams will be evenly distributed across the three districts,” read a statement from BPPA secretary-general Nomore Muzvidziwa.

The other clubs, which are under Reigate, are Sizinda Pool Club, Njube Snipers, Masgreza Pool Club, Perfect Liquor Pool Club, Nketa Neighbourhood Pool Club, Mandlovu BG Pool Club, Bambi Pool Club, Greencorner Pool Club, Sibamba Pool Club, Nketa 8 Pool Club, Ace Basement Pool Club, Queens Legends Pool Club, Skittle Inn Pool Club and ZRP Central Professionals Pool Club.

In other related news, BPPA is set to host its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on February 10, which is a week before the Zimbabwe Pool Association (ZIPA) hosts their annual general meeting. After the two annual general meetings, the National Champions League will follow in Chinhoyi.

Participation at the National Champions League is mandatory for all clubs that finished in positions one to three in their respective provincial district leagues last year.

Clubs that are unable to participate at the tournament for various reasons will be made to pay a non-participation fee of US$50 and failure to pay that amount will lead to the inability to partake in their respective district leagues. —@brandon_malvin
