Two on board as plane crashes in Zaka, one confirmed dead

One person died when a private plane crashed in Zaka on Sunday afternoon.

Preliminary reports indicate the plane had two people on board and investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of the crash.

National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident this morning and said investigations are underway to determine the cause of the crash.

“I can confirm that there was a plane crash in Zaka yesterday(Sunday) late afternoon. One person died.

“We are working closely with the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe(CAAZ) to establish the cause of the crash,” he stated.

Commissioner Nyathi said the police will release a detailed statement later.
