ZANU-PF national commissar Saviour “Tyson” Kasukuwere yesterday urged Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa to cash in on his popular signature “Pamberi neZanu-PF, pasi nemhandu-uuu” slogan which has taken the country by storm.

While the slogan has been in existence since the liberation war, it is the way the VP chants it that has had it gaining more popularity.

He chanted it in this creative way first at Zanu-PF’s National People’s Congress last year, sparking laughter from party members.

The slogan soon went viral after someone in the audience recorded it and shared it on social media networking site — WhatsApp. The one-minute clip went on to be used as a ringtone by some, further igniting interest from more who were fascinated.

When the Vice President took to the Mataga podium in Mberengwa yesterday where First Lady Grace Mugabe was conducting a Midlands ‘Meet the  people rally’, excitement filled the atmosphere when he started chanting party slogans.

It is the way he delivers the slogan which sends people into a frenzy because when he gets to the pasi nemhandu-uuu (down with the enemy) part, the Vice President’s voice increases in pitch, leaving many in stitches.

As a result of the continued positive response from crowds, Kasukuwere yesterday suggested that they record party slogans and sell them.

“I think if I compile the slogans into a CD, we can make money out of it, especially from the VP’s slogans. He’ll have to copyright them,” Kasukuwere told those who gathered in Mataga.
