mid-term 18-and-under tournament that begins this morning.
The junior players were supposed to take part in the Cee Cees tournament but the sponsors of the event pulled out on the 11th hour due to personal problems. Participants will take part in four age groups – Under-12, Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 in both the boys and girls categories.
Tennis Zimbabwe administrator Cliff Nhokwara said they had to come up with a tournament to replace the original event that was set for this weekend.
“Unfortunately Cee Cees pulled out in the last minute but we decided to proceed with the tournament and it is now the Tennis Zimbabwe mid-term 18-and-Under tournament.
“The reason the sponsors pulled out is that the owner was not feeling well and has travelled so they said they will not be at the tournament.”
