DIRECTOR of rugby Brighton Chivandire has urged the Zimbabwe Under-14 side to be focused when they take part in the Craven Week Rugby Festival in Mpumalanga, South Africa.

The Under-14 Craven Week is expected to run from June 29 to July 5 at the Hoerskool Ferrera in White River.

Speaking at the send-off ceremony, which was held at the Zimbabwe Rugby Union offices in Harare on Thursday evening, Chivandire said the boys must be a dedicated lot.

“All the boys showed a lot of enthusiasm during their preparations. This age group is very good for the sport development. The Under-14 team for last year played well and won some of their games but lost to Namibia and we hope this year they will win all their games,” said Chivandire.

Head coach of the Under-14 side, Gordon Pangeti, named Munashe Mhere as the skipper and he will be assisted by Marcelle Masvikeni and Conor Higgins.

The Young Sables left the country yesterday.
