NATIONAL Under-20 coach Bekithemba “Super” Ndlovu will this morning hold trials in Bulawayo to shortlist players for the Cosafa Under-20 Championships set for December in Zambia.
The tournament is set for Kitwe from December 6-16, with teams set to battle it out at Nkana Stadium and Arthur Davies Stadium.
Zifa Southern Region technical development coordinator Tumediso Mokoena-Ndlovu said today’s trials will be held at Crescent Sports Club in Parkview.
“The national Under-20 coach Bekithemba Ndlovu will hold trials to select players for the Young Warriors’ squad on Monday at Crescent Sports Club.
“The trials will start at 10AM and are open to players Under-20 who are passport holders.
“We are appealing to clubs to allow players to attend these trials,” said Mokoena-Ndlovu.
He said Mark Mathe and Mike Madzivanyika will hold similar trials in Harare.
The Young Warriors selectors are also expected to travel to the Zifa Central and Eastern regions to scout for talent.
Ndlovu will be hoping to assemble a team that will do better at the regional games following last year’s disaster during which the Young Warriors failed to go past the first round in South Africa.
Ndlovu took over from Mandla Mpofu, who was elevated to assist Norman Mapeza with the senior national team. — @ZililoR
