Unheralded Dendera artiste Malvin Chimbetu, the last born child of the legendary Simon Chimbetu is set to captivate music enthusiasts with the release of his anticipated project, “The Truth Remains”.

This is a follow up to his debut album released last year titled “African Panorama Chapter 3”, which somehow did not do well but this has not affected his career.

The three-track singles collection showcases the artiste’s unique talent, promising an immersive and unforgettable musical experience.

In an interview with The Herald Arts, Malvin said the three songs are “Wako Ndiani”, “Terera”, and “Tivimbisane”.

Based in Pretoria, South Africa, Malvin’s unparalleled artistry is laden on the project as he navigates diverse musical landscapes and seamlessly blends modern sound into the Dendera genre.

Listeners are in for a treat that transcends musical boundaries.

The release is scheduled for 10 of January and will be available on major streaming platforms. Notably, Malvin worked with veteran producer Bothwell Nyamhondera on the project.

With this project, Malvin not only delivers a sonic journey, but also invites the audience to explore the deeper layers of emotion and life experiences.

The project serves as a reflection of his commitment to authenticity and scale Dendera music to another level.

Malvin is the son of Simon’s last wife, the late Angeline.

Malvin said is inspired by his father who was adept to his work.

“My role model is my late father Simon. I also draw inspiration from my brothers Sulumani, Tryson, and Douglas, who have worked hard to maintain the high standards set by the genre. I also want to credit Saiwe and Allan as they have been a pillar of strength in my music. To the co-founders Simon and Naison Chimbetu, we salute you.”

Turning to the songs Malvin said, “Tivimbisane” is a poignant track that explores the theme of promise and togetherness.

“The lyrics delve into the commitments people make to each other. On “Wako Ndiani,” the track carries a powerful message, urging individuals not to rely on others to achieve their goals,” he said.

“The song encourages self-reliance and determination in the pursuit of aspirations.

“‘Terera’, shifts the focus to parenting and children. It serves as heartfelt advice to children emphasizing the importance of listening to their parents and embracing wisdom passed down.”

The 27-year-old, musician said this project not only shows his musical prowess, but shows his commitment and dedication to preserving the Dendera music legacy and solidifying his place in the Chimbetu musical dynasty.
