Dr Obert Mpofu
THE idea has, and will always be to leave Zimbabwe in a better state that we found it when we took over the governance of the country from the repressive Smith regime.
Every policy enacted and implemented by Zanu-PF and its Government since then has been to take the country to the next level with the goal of securing the future of our youth and those who will come after them.
Each one of our policies and endeavors have been pro-people and pro-poor.
The guerillas who freed this country and later took over its governance knew all pretty well what had to be done to place our people on a pedestal and improve their lives.
Unfortunately, the exercise to fully decolonise our people has been a slow one, owing to how deeply entrenched colonialism was. It is such actions that have slowed down our progress, but we are not deterred. We still soldier on and continue with the invaluable task of decolonising the mind of the African. We will not rest until all the remnants of colonialism are decimated.
The few of us that are left out of the many that took heed of the all and joined others to leave all life as they knew it then to fight and out an end to colonialism will make sure that we do not let this country regress into the hands of those who want to keep us under their boot forever.
All efforts will be made to ensure that we are never a colony again.
There are some among us who have been lured by the enemy to sellout and they have been more than willing to partake in the betrayal of their own kind.
History will judge such individuals harshly when all has been said and done. Zimbabwe will rise and we shall all sit atop its grandeur and enjoy the fruits of our toil when we finally attain President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 of an upper-middle-income society.
President Mnangagwa is our very own Deng Xiaoping, for he has ushered in an entirely new era of prosperity where our economy has been opened-up and our nation is rising once more to take up its rightful position.
Of course, there are those who doubt and are quick to criticise such efforts, but these individuals have no idea as to what our determination is capable of achieving.
Such doubts are remnants of a mind that is still colonised and one which needs not only decolonising but reconditioning at the end of the day.
Such individuals sooner rather than later will be left with no choice but to abandon their futile exercise for the great works that the people’s Party through its Government is implementing will prove them wrong.
The massive infrastructure initiatives such as the impressive upgrading of our roads, power generation hardware and such associated projects has thus been deliberately carried out to push forward the agenda of black empowerment as well as uplifting the entire nation.
The mind is the greatest weapon that can be used for driving a people’s success or in other instances, preventing a people from reaching their desired goal.
We should awaken to the capabilities that we have as Zimbabweans and the immense resources at our disposal. The colonisers definitely planted the seed deep into the minds of the colonisers and the roots have festered and entangled our people.
The idea that only the white man has the key to emancipation. Well, there is a lot that the black man can do and they can do it better than the white man in most instances.
The tragedy has only been that the standards that have been used to measure and gauge the success of the black man are unfair and a bit skewed in the favour of the white man.
We should allow the same and equal chance to have our own trial and errors, to try and seek out our path. Surely, for everything worthwhile, it is difficult to get it right at the first go, in fact it is impossible.
Through the efforts from the Second Republic to awaken and revamp each and every sector of our economy, we are unlocking Zimbabwe’s true value for the benefit of our future generations.
The efforts made thus far into his endeavor should be commended and we should all put our heads together, united to drive our development in a peaceful environment the Zanu-PF way. This will be done by Zanu-PF whilst recognising that our people are the most important element into his matrix.
