HIGHLANDERS Football Club has made a historic power play as they snatch their first-ever Nigerian player, a teenage striker who’s already turning heads in Bulawayo.

Meet Benjamin Oluwarotimi Adeogun, the 19-year-old forward nicknamed “Ndlangamandla” in Gwanda football circles, now officially part of the Bosso family.

Ndlangamandla is blessed with blistering pace, amazing agility for his size, and deadly accuracy in front of goal and great stamina that should prove a handful for defenders.

Signed on loan from Gwanda Pirates until the end of the season, Benjamin’s arrival at the Bulawayo giants has turned heads and set anticipation on overdrive. While he’s yet to lace up for his debut in black and white, fans are buzzing at the prospect of watching the Lagos-born forward in action.

This is not the first time Highlanders have tried to bring in a Nigerian. A deal two decades ago fizzled out, making Benjamin the first successful Naija signing in the club’s storied history. Over the years, Bosso have fielded Zambians, Brits and even Americans, but this one feels different.

Benjamin’s football journey started at Dynamic Football Academy back home in Nigeria where he collected trophies like loose change. He was crowned Player of the Tournament and Top Goal Scorer in several youth competitions.

In early 2025, he made his professional debut with Gwanda Pirates and immediately made an impact by banging in five goals in 13 matches. That form caught Bosso’s attention and the rest is history in the making.

Born in 2006 in Lagos to Ranti and Christiana Adeogun, Benjamin is the baby of six siblings. Raised on a solid diet of discipline, teamwork and ambition, he is bringing more than just pace and power to Bosso. He is bringing a hunger to succeed.

Educated at Temidire Primary and Oke Odo High School, Benjamin balanced books and boots with equal intensity.

“My dream is to play at the highest level,” he said. “Highlanders is a big step and I want to give everything for the badge.”

Bosso fans, get ready. Ndlangamandla has landed!
