It is alleged that on June 9 last year the three family members saw a male adult in the company of two others breaking in through their kitchen door.
The trio cornered the now deceased man but his two accomplices escaped.
It is the State’s case that the three pounced on the man and started assaulting him all over his body several times with hose pipes, electric cords and golf clubs.
According to the State papers, the now deceased alleged robber sustained a deep cut on the head and abdomen and bled profusely.
The State contends that the three left the man lying unconscious in their yard where he allegedly died from the injuries sustained from the beating.
The three went to Braeside Police Station to file a citizen’s arrest report.
Upon return with police officers they found the alleged robber dead on their lawn.
