A MAN from Woodville in Bulawayo allegedly assaulted his wife and poured urine on her face because she took money from their house without consulting him.

Doubt Munsaka (32) faced Bulawayo Magistrate Patience Madondo, who remanded him in custody to 7 March. He was charged with physical abuse and was not asked to plead.

Prosecutor Joseph Rugara told the court that on 28 February around 10 PM, Doubt assaulted his wife, Buhlebenkosi, hitting her with fists several times all over her body.

He kicked her multiple times in the stomach and then poured urine on her face after they had a misunderstanding over the fact that Buhlebenkosi had taken US$600 from their house and used it without Doubt’s knowledge or consent.

Buhlebenkosi was taken to hospital for a medical examination, and a medical report was submitted as evidence.

The matter was reported to the police, leading to Doubt’s arrest.
