US-BASED ARTIST DROPS GOSPEL ALBUM

Latwell Nyangu

UNITED States-based gospel singer, Denise Moyo, has dropped her latest album, dubbed ‘HuMwari Hwedu,’ which reminds people they can overcome whatever struggle they are facing.

The song is an anthem of unshakable faith.

She wants to take listeners on a deeply introspective and empowering journey through 13 tracks that merge scripture, storytelling and rich musical arrangements.

Denise’s poetic and storytelling roots show up in every song on this album.

The album, which was released on January 20, was produced by Macdonald ‘Macdee’ Chidavaenzi, who has worked with the artist on previous projects.

Denise weaves profound lessons and messages into her music.

“At its core, ‘HuMwari Hwedu’ is a spiritual awakening, a call to recognise and claim the divine nature within us.

“The title track, ‘HuMwari Hwedu,’ serves as a powerful anthem urging believers to embody their godliness, as reflected in Psalm 82:6 and John 10:34.

“It also calls for listeners to step boldly into their spiritual inheritance,” she said.

One of the songs from the album is ‘Hwenzou.’

“The song is about stepping out of our fears to fully live our purpose.

“It declares that we should not pay attention to any negative things that happen or that people say about us, we shouldn’t be moved by it.

“At the heart of this song is the push to not be ruled or limited by fear, but to be courageous as we move through life.

“So, step into each situation like an elephant with strength, courage and assurance that you can make it through to the other side.

“HweNzou is an inspiring declaration of resilience and courage.”

She added:

“The album is an anthem of the unshakable faith and strength we carry within, reminding us that we can overcome the struggles and storms that we are facing.

“Kuna Mwari, Nechochocho, Amira Mira, Bate Rege, Chawakaona and Waregererwa are among the other gems on this album, each carrying its own weight in storytelling and message.

“So far, visuals for HuMwari Hwedu and HweNzou have been released, with Amira Mira scheduled to follow on February 10.”
