Rotary Club of Harare Central has donated books worth US$15 000 to Harare Hospital School of Nursing to enhance learning and research as the school does not have internet connectivity.

The books which cover various topics including pharmacy, doctors and nursing were expected to complement teaching and research to both tutors and students.

Rotary president Mrs Theresa Baluzi said they were motivated to assist the nursing school by their desire to see a transformed country with knowledgeable service providers.

“We are here to donate medical books for doctors and nurses so that they can capacitate their library since we heard that they do not have internet so carrying out research work is a bit difficult,” said Mrs Baluzi.

“What we have donated today are books worth US$15 000 to help doctors and nurses in their research and training. As Rotary we want to make this country a better place and that is what motivates us.”

She said the consignment arrived in Zimbabwe with books worth US$1 million after they coordinated with their partners in United States of America adding the other books will be distributed to other nursing schools countrywide.

In his acceptance speech, Harare Hospital operations director Mr Peter Gwata said the books would assist a lot in updating the library most of whose books were now outdated

Rotary Club is a group of professional people and business people who are determined to make the world a better place.
