WHEN Lizmani Makate from Kumalo suburb in Bulawayo and his wife Letwin Batungu were at each other’s throats over an image of a male person, Letwin allegedly shouted at her husband branding him a useless man who ejaculates water.

Makate told a Bulawayo civil court that from that day his marital life flipped on its head. He narrated the sequence of events that strained their marriage.

“I was using my wife’s phone and an image of a male person popped up and that did not go down well with me. After that I called my wife to ask who sent her the image and what their relationship was,” he said.

According to Makate, his wife sprung a shock as she fumed at him and unleashed words which left him weak-kneed.

“I asked her about the image that was on her phone and ordered her to hand the phone to me after that she smashed the phone on the ground,” he told the court.

Following that, Makate stated that his wife turned violent and would beat him up.

“Each time we argued Letwin would manhandle me and hit me with fists. Your worship, I no longer love her. I’m fed up. I kindly request to stay alone. This woman does not respect me. At one point when we argued she insulted me saying I’m a useless man and I ejaculate water,” he said.

Letwin took to the stand and said: “He is telling lies Your Worship. He is the one who bashes me whenever we argue and he labels me a thief or a prostitute. At times he brands me a barren prostitute.”

The magistrate granted the couple a reciprocal peace order. The order binds both parties to live in peace and not to physically and verbally abuse each other.
