The event has been penciled in for July 2. Defending champion in the senior’s artistic section, Kudzaishe Nyazvingo, is going to defend his crown.
Moses January will battle to hold on to his crown in the junior artistic category. Vice-president of the Zimbabwe Gymnastics Association, Chris Muchatatu, said they were happy to host the event once again.
“We are happy and looking forward to host this year’s pre-national competition.
“Last year the competition attracted over 400 gymnasts.
“The pre nationals and the national championships are both multi-faceted with competition in artistic, aerobics, rhythmic, trampoline and tumbling with age-groups ranging from five-to-21-year-olds.
“Based on the scores and results of these competitions Zimbabwe Gymnastics formulates a list of eight qualifiers from each age group and discipline.
“Everyone is welcome to watch this great competition as it offers a great variety in types and ages of gymnastics,” said Muchatuta.
