Van der Westhuizen targets improved time

PAIGE van der Westhuizen will be out to improve her time when she competes in the women’s 100m freestyle this afternoon at the Paris La Defense Arena.
Her current personal best is 57.34 seconds. She is up against Sudan’s Rana Saadeldin, Tilly Collymore of Grenada, Maxine Egner of Botswana and Aleka Kylela Persaud from Guyana in Heat 1.

There are four heats lined up for the event. The fastest 16 from the heats qualify for the semi-finals.

The race is expected at 12:47.
