LONDON. — Louis van Gaal is in pole position to be named Manchester United’s new boss – as early as this week.
Holland coach van Gaal is ready to pen a three-year deal worth around £25million to succeed the sacked David Moyes. While he’ll be bringing his own back-room staff with him, Van Gaal is likely to keep on United’s temporary boss Ryan Giggs as part of his coaching team. Giggs – who has been placed in charge of outgoing champions United’s final four games of the season – began his tenure with an emphatic 4-0 home win over Norwich on Saturday, to the delight of the home crowd.
Although the United hierarchy have told Giggs there can be no assurances he will be given a role under the new boss, it is understood Van Gaal welcomes continuity and will keep Giggs on. — The Mirror.
