VARUN BEVERAGES MANAGER FEASTS ON COMPANY FUNDS: Sales exec held for US$11 888 heist

B-Metro Reporter

BULAWAYO’S business world is reeling after a local sales manager was slapped with theft charges in a US$11 888 cash scandal.

Esther Manunure (31) who manages sales at Varun Beverages, appeared before Bulawayo Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said she “was entrusted with Varun Beverages products for resale, with a duty to collect and remit cash to the company. She allegedly collected US$11 888 from clients and instead of remitting the funds, she unlawfully converted the money to her personal use.”

So far, none of the cash has been recovered, and the case has sent ripples through Bulawayo’s corporate circles.

Manunure was remanded TO 16 October 2025, but was granted bail of US$100 and ordered “not to interfere with witnesses.”
