It started its operations in Zimbabwe with the inauguration of its first production line by His Excellency, President of Zimbabwe, Dr Cde E.D. Mnangagwa, with a total production capacity of 12,5 million bottles of sparkling beverages per month.

Today, with an investment of almost US$150 million, Varun Beverages Zimbabwe has a production facility capable of producing 100 million bottles of sparkling beverages and bottled water per month.

Now, the company can produce an additional 1,2 million water bottles and one million multi-serve bottles per month.

Varun Beverages Zimbabwe collaborated with Zimbabwe’s leading telecommunications provider, Econet Wireless, to launch a unique scheme for this summer and the festive season, called Peel and Win, on their 2-litre sparkling beverages.

There are 4,3 million prizes under every 2-litre promotional bottle that can be identified by its yellow promotional strip on the label of 2-litre Pepsi, Mirinda Orange, Mountain Dew and 7Up. When consumers buy Varun Beverages’ 2-litre bottles of Pepsi, Mirinda Orange, 7Up and Mountain Dew with a yellow promotional strip look under the label, they will be rewarded with Econet airtime and SMS.

Directly and indirectly, 13 000 families are employed through Varun Beverages’ sparkling and bottled water production and distribution ecosystem.

The fresh investment will create additional employment for almost 2 000 more people.

“We hope the bouquet of promotions offered by Varun Beverages Zimbabwe will create excitement in the sparkling beverages category and people will get added benefits besides value for their money by buying more quantity for less this festival season.

The Econet airtime and SMS will help people connect with their friends and family this summer and throughout the festive season by winning airtime and SMS under the 2-litre promotional bottles on the Pepsi range of products.
