THE tagline, “Velamfundo” underlines Mpopoma High School’s badge. It is a statement that is evident enough, self-explanatory and inspirational.
Nothing has come short of excellence about Mpopoma High School. Everyone knows something good about the school. That is a fact.

The school continues to be the doyen of excellence, not only in academics, but in all that encompasses what makes up humanity and all disciplines that shape the world.
True to its reputation, Mpopoma High School has stuck to that reputation of being a centre of excellence. Results in academics are testimony to that.

On Friday, 3 October, the best among pupils at the school were awarded and honoured for their work. Top of it, the teachers who honed the pupils were celebrated too.
The day was not about the achievements, it was a celebratory and motivational.
Results in all that happens at Mpopoma High, was what made the day.

And, the headmistress, Mrs Sihle Sibanda spoke boldly on their goal. These accomplishments, she said, demonstrate their combined efforts towards excellence, without bounds.
“At Ordinary Level, 63 percent of our students achieved impressive grades. Our Advanced Level students excelled, with 62 students scoring 15 points and above, 13 students achieved 20 points and one reached the remarkable 24 points milestone. I commend our students, teachers and staff for their tireless efforts.
“To those who may not have achieved their desired results, I urge you, do not be discouraged. Every setback is an opportunity to learn and grow. Keep pushing forward, and your persistence will yield success. Some say the sky is the limit but I say the sky is only the beginning. As we celebrate today’s achievements, we also acknowledge that our journey to excellence is endless. We strive for continuous improvement, embracing challenges and learning from failures,” said Mrs Sibanda on the occasion of the 2025 speech and prize giving day.

The guest of honour, renowned educationist and businessman, Mr Clemence Kunzekweguta, who was represented by Ms Tariro Sibanda, a manager at top top-performing firm, Zero Suppliers gave motivation to the learners,“At 28 years old, I am currently pursuing a PhD in Information Science driven by my aspirations to become a professor and be called Doctor.
While friends have occasionally questioned my decision, suggesting that I should instead focus on enjoying my youth, I have remained steadfast in my commitment to education. This is because I understand firsthand the power of education and its ability to transform lives.
“The theme, “Combined Efforts Towards Excellence Without Bounds: An Endless Journey,” beautifully captures the spirit of this occasion. Excellence is not a destination—it is a continuous pursuit. It is built through the tireless commitment of teachers, the curiosity and resilience of learners, and the unwavering support of families and communities.

“To the learners receiving awards today: your hard work, discipline, and determination have set you apart. But remember, this is just the beginning. Keep pushing boundaries, keep asking questions, and never stop believing in your potential.

To the teachers: your impact goes far beyond the classroom. You shape minds, nurture dreams, and ignite the spark of possibility. Your excellence is the foundation upon which these achievements stand. Let us all leave here reminded that greatness is never achieved alone.

It is the result of shared vision, mutual support, and a belief that together, we can go further than we ever imagined.”
