He obtained his Diploma in Journalism and Communication in 1998.
Between 1997 and 2002 he was the Acting Editor of New Ziana’s The Times newspaper.
Munyati then became Editor of the Telegraph (New ZIANA) between 2004 and 2007.
He joined The People’s Voice as deputy editor as well as being a Senior Information Officer in the department of Information and Publicity, posts he held until the time of his death.
Zanu-PF secretary for Information and Publicity Cde Rugare Gumbo said Munyati’s demise was a great loss to the nation and the party.
“His death is a great loss not only to his family, but to the party as a whole. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
Zimbabwe Union of Journalists vice president Michael Chideme described Munyati as a jovial and easy going journalist.
He said Munyati would be sadly missed by those who knew and worked with him in the Midlands, Mashonaland West and Harare.
