Veteran radio disc jockey and war veteran Cde Grey Gambiza Moyo has died.

He was 68.

His sister-in-law, Thembinkosi Mbesa, confirmed his death

Cde Gambiza Moyo died on Thursday after he collapsed at his Mhangura farm as he was preparing to go for a medical check-up.

He was born on June 21, 1958, in Mberengwa and was the only child. He attended Chawora Primary School before proceeding to Matopo Secondary School.

He joined the liberation war in 1977 at XIA Cross 2 Makute, after which he proceeded to Chimoio, Mozambique.

Cde Gambiza Moyo studied Journalism in Egypt and later joined ZBC, where he was a radio presenter at Radio Zimbabwe.

He presented shows like Zvisikwa Zvesango, where he worked with legendary broadcasters like John Masuku, Joe Panganayi Mukaronda, Sam Sibanda and later presenters like Eric Knight and Ezra Tshisa Sibanda.

He is survived by his wife Rejoice, five children (four boys and a girl) and six grandchildren.

Mourners are gathered at Plot 20 Highberry in Mhangura. Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
