Veteran Zulu inspires Hwange

league encounter at Rufaro yesterday.
Hwange scored the sucker punch to collect the maximum points and increased pressure on third-placed Motor Action as they are now three points shy the champions.

The defeat condemned the former champions to their eighth match without a win and are now in 11th position with 29 points.
Zulu, who replaced Tongai Magwendere in the 58th minute, got to the end of a cross from Winston Mhango, controlled the ball and blasted home.
Monomotapa were made to pay for failing to convert the chances that came their way in the second half with Russel Madamombe and Joseph Mutambiranwa the culprits.

Monoz gaffer Taurai Mangwiro said luck was not on their side.
“Perhaps you need luck because if you don’t have you would be in trouble, which is what happened today,” said Mangwiro.

Hwange coach Tennant Chilumba was elated to pick crucial away points and insisted that his team can finish third.
“The boys were wasteful because they were in a hurry. They know what is at stake. We want to finish in the top four and believe we can even finish third. We will continue to do well and try to pick maximum points in each and every game,” said Chilumba.
