According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the quartet attacked the victim on the night of July 17, 2026, outside Manor Hotel at the corner of 8th Avenue and Lobengula Street.
“On the night 17 July 2026, outside Manor Hotel at the corner of 8th Avenue and Lobengula Street in Bulawayo, the offenders attacked the victim, stabbing him twice in the stomach and once at the back of his head with a knife.
“They forcibly took his sling bag, which contained USD3200-00 in cash, a national identity card and a birth certificate, and fled. The victim sustained two stab wounds to the stomach, with his intestines protruding, and a cut to the back of his head as a result of the assault,” said the NPAZ in a statement.
The victim was ferried to Mpilo Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
“A report was made and police investigations led to the arrest and subsequent conviction of the offenders. NPAZ warns perpetrators of violent crimes such as robbery that the long arm of the law will catch up with them and that they will be punished to the full extent of the law,” said the authority.
