VICTORIA Falls, renowned for its natural wonders, is now captivating the world with a new tourism gem — Victoria Falls Gin.

This extraordinary beverage is making waves in the tourism and hospitality industry, embodying the essence of the mighty Victoria Falls.

Founded by Charlotte Kanter and backed by Blessing Munyenyiwa, a distinguished tourism executive, Victoria Falls Gin is not just a drink; it is a celebration of indigenous knowledge and a dedication to the region’s cultural heritage.

What sets Victoria Falls Gin apart is the use of water sourced directly from the World Natural Wonder, the majestic Victoria Falls. This key ingredient, coupled with a blend of baobab fruit, buffalo thorn honey and grains of paradise — all with medicinal value — infuses the gin with a touch of magic that has enchanted locals and tourists alike.

Victoria Falls Gin has played a significant role in Zimbabwe’s gin renaissance, offering a range of flavours that capture the spirit of the iconic destination. The commitment to empowering local communities, who provide the indigenous botanical ingredients, is a distinguishing factor that adds depth and authenticity to this exceptional spirit.

As the marketing director for the Victoria Falls Carnival, Kanter was hit hard by Covid-19, as all events were cancelled. She however, took this time as an opportunity to create and launch her dream of an idea she had had for years. Crafted in 2020, the gin has found its place in the tourism and hospitality industry, gracing the tables of restaurants, hotels and airports.

“As the gin culture in Zimbabwe evolves, Victoria Falls Gin leads with a commitment to quality, sustainability and community empowerment. We aspire to be a beacon in the growing success of the Zimbabwean spirits market,” Kanter expressed.

She envisions Victoria Falls Gin becoming the biggest gin in Africa, distributed throughout the continent and extending its reach to America and Europe. By promoting local women through product purchases, the brand aims to contribute to community upliftment and establish itself as a symbol of Zimbabwean excellence.

This unique elixir not only offers a taste of Victoria Falls but also presents an opportunity to showcase Zimbabwe’s rich cultural tapestry to the world.

With its blend of tradition, innovation and a touch of magic, Victoria Falls Gin is poised to become a cultural icon and a must-try for connoisseurs around the globe.
