Victoria Falls plays overnight host to stranded Kenyan Airways passengers

 Leonard Ncube, Victoria Falls Reporter
A KENYAN Airways (KQ) aircraft reportedly developed a technical fault at Victoria Falls International Airport on Wednesday afternoon resulting in close to 100 passengers en-route to Cape Town, South Africa, sleeping over in the resort town.

The airline dispatched a spare part from Kenya via another aircraft that was going to Malawi.
It landed in Victoria Falls and departed with passengers who were travelling from Victoria Falls to Nairobi.

Those who were travelling to Cape Town were booked at a local hotel together with the airline crew as engineers attended to the fault.

Chronicle learnt that the fault was finally fixed and the aircraft flew to Cape Town yesterday afternoon.

Victoria Falls Airport manager Mr Ronnie Masawi referred questions to KQ management in the resort town. A local manager said he was not allowed to comment. -@ncubeleon
