VIDEO: National Art Gallery in Bulawayo in need of repairs

THE new regional director of the National Art Gallery in Bulawayo, Butholezwe Kgosi Nyathi has expressed concern over the state of the building that houses the gallery, saying that the institution needed urgent structural uplift and renovation.

Despite its popular Victorian look, Nyathi said that parts of the gallery had begun to show signs of serious wear and tear, and without improvements the deterioration would only get worse.

The 33 year old Nyathi last week officially took over from the now retired Voti Thebe, and expressed his desire to come to once again place the gallery at the centre of artistic activity while encouraging innovation in the city.
