ZIMBABWEAN golfer Scott Vincent continued his impressive resurgence on the LIV Golf Tour with a fifth-place finish at LIV Golf Korea, earning US$800 000 and further strengthening his position among the circuit’s top performers this season.
Vincent carded rounds of 65, 70, 67 and 69 to finish nine-under-par for the week in Busan, South Korea.
Chile’s Joaquín Niemann claimed the title after defeating American Talor Gooch in a play-off, securing the winner’s cheque of US$4 million.
For Vincent, however, another top-five finish represented a significant milestone in what has been a remarkable comeback season.
The 34-year-old lost his LIV Golf status in 2024 and was forced to rebuild his career through the Asian Tour before earning his way back onto the lucrative circuit.
That determination is now paying dividends.
Vincent has recorded five top-15 finishes in eight LIV Golf events this season and has already accumulated earnings of US$3 552 333, placing him 15th on the league’s money list.
His latest payday also pushed his career LIV Golf earnings beyond the US$12 million mark, rising from US$11.29 million before the Korea event to US$12.09 million.
The Zimbabwean’s recent form has not gone unnoticed among his peers.
Niemann, who played alongside Vincent during the final two rounds at Asiad Country Club, praised the Zimbabwean’s work ethic and commitment after lifting his record eighth LIV Golf individual title.
“I feel like he’s developed as a player big time,” said Niemann.
“The way you see him practising, he’s always the first one in the gym, he’s always the first one on the range, on the putting green, he’ll be there until the end of the day.”
The Chilean also applauded Vincent’s consistency since returning to the LIV Golf set-up.
“I want to also congratulate Scott for his week and the way he’s playing. I feel he’s been really consistent since he came back.
“You know, he played on 2024, I think, then back to Asian Tour and back to LIV, and he’s ready for action now. He’s a great player, great guy.”
Since turning professional in 2015, Vincent has built an impressive international career, competing on the Sunshine Tour, DP World Tour, Japan Challenge Tour and PGA Tour Canada.
His trophy cabinet includes three Japan Golf Tour titles, two Asian Tour victories and one Japan Challenge Tour win.
