ZIMBABWEAN professional golfer, Scott Vincent, continued with his fine form after he finished tied in seventh place at the Mynavi ABC Championship at ABC Golf Club in Japan, at the weekend.

Vincent had rounds of 70, 68, 69 and 70 for a total two-under-par 277 in the Memorial 50th Anniversary tournament.

The cut was Vincent’s tenth this season and has seen him move into seventh place, on the current order of merit, on the Japanese Tour.

Yosuke Asaji captured his third Tour victory following the win at ANA Open in 2019.

He had Mikumu Horikawa and Tomohiro Ishizaka for company, in the final group.

The trio were all tied, when they reached 17th hole setting up a thrilling finale.

Yosuke chose aggression and went over the tree line, from the deep roughs, towards the green. The splendid iron shot not only caught the green but came to within seven metres of the pin, and he also made that birdie putt, to take the lead.

Then, on final 18th, Yosuke successfully drove to the middle of the fairway.

He safely got his second shot over the water onto the green and made an easy two-putt birdie to close the deal.

“I was close to winning so many times, but just couldn’t make it,’’ he said. “It felt really long until I achieved my third victory.

“I had both good and bad points in my round today, but overall, I say my round was perfect.”

He was congratulated by his colleagues with a big water splash.
