Violence scares away fans

This Sunday the cheapest ticket cost US$2 but BF was nowhere near the usual numbers that have been filing the stadium of late.

VIOLENT scenes that rocked Barbourfields Stadium last Sunday seem to have a had a ripple effect on match day attendance as fans stayed away from the stadium in a match pitting Highlanders and Yadah FC.

Highlanders has been commanding huge numbers at BF prior to the violent disturbances last week between Bosso and Dynamos.

This Sunday, however, most fans preferred to stay away from the stadium.

The swimming pool end stand, known as Soweto and Empankweni stand had pockets of empty seats – an unusual sight for a home team that has been continually attracting bums on seats this season.

Last Sunday, the cheapest seat was pegged US$5 and the stadium was packed.

As the home side Bosso will feel the financial pinch of fans staying away from BF.
