THE Symbolic Vision Zero has been relaunched at the 63rd National Conference on Safety and Health at Work, with the unveiling of the Vision Zero banner and flag in Victoria Falls.

The conference room burst into a brief carnival mood as NSSA General Manager Dr Charles Shava led the proceedings.
Vision Zero is a global prevention strategy that aims for zero accidents, injuries and diseases at work.

Based on leadership, risk prevention, worker participation and continuous improvement, it is important because it protects lives, cuts costs, boosts productivity and builds a culture where safety, health and wellbeing are everyone’s responsibility.
Furthermore, the Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Edgar Moyo, Organised Labour and EMCOZ led the signing of the Vision Zero commitment, binding Government, workers and employers to the cause.

Running under the theme Vision Zero: Safety.Health.Wellbeing, the conference has drawn OSH professionals, researchers and policymakers. Delegates welcomed the relaunch as a renewed push for stronger OSH governance, digital innovation and safer Zimbabwean workplaces.
