VICE-PRESIDENT Kembo Mohadi has arrived for the official opening of the inaugural Kuzana Sports and Creative Economy Expo Zimbabwe 2026, which seeks to position sport and the creative industries as key drivers of economic growth and the attainment of Vision 2030.

Vice-President Mohadi is representing President Mnangagwa, who is the guest of honour at the expo being held under the theme, “Kuzana: Towards Vision 2030 through Sport and Creative Industries.”
The inaugural expo has attracted 200 exhibitors showcasing products, services and innovations across various sporting and creative disciplines, highlighting the growing potential of the sectors to contribute to enterprise development, employment creation and investment.

The event provides a platform for athletes, sports administrators, artists, performers, designers, entrepreneurs and other players in the creative economy to showcase their work, establish business connections and explore opportunities for collaboration.

Before the official proceedings begin, Vice-President Mohadi is expected to tour exhibition stands and interact with exhibitors as they demonstrate their products and share insights into their work.
The expo comes as Zimbabwe continues to pursue economic transformation under the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2), with the sports and creative industries offering opportunities to broaden economic participation, nurture talent and create sustainable livelihoods, particularly among young people.

Beyond showcasing talent, the gathering is expected to spotlight the commercial value of sporting and creative pursuits, including opportunities in sports development, entertainment, fashion, arts, cultural products and related services.

The expo’s focus on Vision 2030 reflects efforts to harness the country’s human capital, cultural heritage and entrepreneurial potential in building an empowered and prosperous upper-middle-income society.

The official opening is expected to set the tone for discussions on how the two sectors can attract investment, strengthen their business value chains and translate Zimbabwe’s sporting and creative talent into tangible economic opportunities.
