FOOTBALLERS Union of Zimbabwe (Fuz) president Desmond ‘Gaza” Maringwa was on Thursday handed a four year term as FIFPRO Africa vice president.
The 19th FIFPRO AFRICA Congress in Cairo, Egypt concluded on Thursday with three major resolutions:
– The amendment of the statutes of the Africa Division to bring them into line with the FIFPRO Global Statutes.
– The election of a new Africa Board for the 2025-2029 term. The new Board is composed of four members: Teresa Caleb Ouko (Kenya), Gérémie Njitap (Cameroon), Magdy Abdelghani (Egypt), and Desmond Maringwa (Zimbabwe).
– The meeting saw the re-election of Njitap as president of FIFPRO AFRICA and Maringwa as vice president for a new four-year term.
Maringwa, a former Warriors and Dynamos midfielder been steering Fuz with distinction in the last few years,
