A 34-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in Beitbridge for allegedly possessing an unlicensed pistol and dagga.
Energy Mangisi was arrested on Saturday by police officers deployed in the border town under Operation “No to Cross Border Crimes”.
In a statement on its social media platforms, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said Mangisi was arrested at Parks Area C.
Police recovered an unlicensed Ekol Viper 4.5 pistol, 20 blank 9mm rounds and dagga during the operation.
The arrest comes as police intensify efforts to curb cross-border crimes and other illegal activities in Beitbridge, a key entry and exit point between Zimbabwe and South Africa.
