VOCAL-X will be hosting a black tie event at Rainbow Hotel, Bulawayo on Saturday as the gospel group seeks to engage the corporate world on its growing vision.

Registration for the event will be $20 which the director and founder of the group Thembelani Mdlaziba says is not a cover charge, but a way of supporting the gospel group which continues to grow.

“Individuals will have to register with $20 to be part of the event. We’re not making people pay to come and watch us perform, but the registration fee is to support us while also covering costs that we’ll incur to host this event.

“For the past years, the group has been growing, travelling to many places and we need support for us to continue doing so,” said Mdlaziba.

The group is preparing for concerts in Kathu, Northern Cape in South Africa, another one in Cape Town and the Zimpraise festival being held in the capital next month.

“As Vocal X, we’ve never had a sponsor and we haven’t had corporate funding ever since. As a result the event on Saturday is going to give us that platform to engage with the corporate world. “We’re going to share our vision and what we want to achieve.”

Mdlaziba said their following was growing in as much as individuals in the group were becoming household names.
