THE Zimbabwe Volleyball Association has warned aspiring volleyball coaches and umpires to be on the lookout for unscrupulous persons conducting bogus courses allegedly on behalf of the association. ZVA secretary-general Ringisai Mapondera said aspiring candidates should first verify the authenticity of any such courses with the association before enrolling. “This serves as a warning to the volleyball fraternity to carefully scrutinise and verify with the ZVA office if you suspect or doubt the authenticity of any course you are asked to attend. Do not be misled by regalia as these are easily counterfeited. You must be issued with a receipt for any payment,” said Mapondera in a statement.
He said no instructors from the association demanded cash or received cash for any course.
Mapondera said ZVA course fees were paid through a bank account while certificates issued by the association were serialised and signed by both the association’s president and vice president.
“Any certificate not meeting the above is valueless and not recognised by the association. Those conducting illegal courses risk being arrested.”
Mapondera said only refresher courses could be conducted at provincial level.
