FORMER Midlands Governor and Zanu-PF Politburo member, Cde Cephas Msipa has urged Zimbabweans to vote resoundingly for the revolutionary party and dump the MDC-T party whose leader has been referred as a “bull”.MDC-T national women’s assembly chairperson, Mrs Theresa Makone recently branded MDC-T leader, Mr Morgan Tsvangirai, a “bull” during a campaign rally in Harare.
Addressing scores of Zanu-PF supporters at Mtambi Business centre in Zvishavane’s Mazvihwa area on Sunday, Cde Msipa who was campaigning for the Zanu-PF party candidate for Zvishavane-Runde constituency, Cde Fred Moyo thanked the people of Zvishavane for choosing a professional as their candidate.
“I want to thank you the people of Zvishavane for choosing a professional as your candidate. (Cde Moyo is an engineer by profession). You did not choose a bull because we have heard some people bragging about their leader referring to him as a bull. We don’t want bulls but we want professionals and this is what Zvishavane people have done,” said Cde Msipa.
He urged the Zvishavane community to go out in numbers and vote resoundingly for Zanu-PF.
“I am very confident that in Zvishavane we will not disappoint. We should go out in our numbers and vote resoundingly for President Mugabe and Zanu-PF,” he said.
Cde Msipa said he served as a Member of Parliament for Zvishavane for a long time and was expecting the electorate to remain united as they used to be.
“I know Zvishavane people are united. We want you to remain united and vote for the revolutionary party which has implemented many developmental projects in the area. You have remained a one party district and we expect you to remain united as we fight the enemy,” he said.
Cde Msipa said Zimbabweans should not vote for MDC-T whose leadership regards whites as superior and role models.
He said MDC-T leader, Mr Tsvangirai was threatening to reverse the land reform programme by regarding his fellow black farmers as failures.
“The problem with (Mr) Tsvangirai is that he thinks the whites are superior and were good farmers. He forgets that we the black people were the ones who were providing labour on commercial farms. He appears not to be in touch with what is happening in his country because he forgets that in Zimbabwe we have been experiencing some dry spells but still judges us as failures in farming,” said Cde Msipa.
He said he would work with Cde Moyo to form the Zvishavane Development Association soon after the elections.
“Our vision to form Zvishavane Development Association can only be helped by the electorate come Wednesday. We want everyone to participate in this do or die election and vote for President Mugabe and Zanu-PF.
I am happy that the people of Zvishavane have chosen a person who has ministerial qualities and all our vision to bring development to Zvishavane will be successful when we work with such professionals like Cde Moyo,” he said.
Speaking during the same gathering Chief Mazvihwa thanked President Mugabe for bringing development to Zvishavane through the Community Share Ownership Scheme.
He said Zvishavane rural was now more of a town owing to different projects, which were funded by the Community Share Ownership Scheme money.
“We have now electrified clinics, constructed dams and drilled boreholes all over as a result of the Community Share Ownership Scheme.
“We want to thank the President for transforming Zvishavane rural into a town. We now have good roads, modern and habitable classroom blocks at our schools,” he said.
