Zanu PF politburo member, Cde Abednico Ncube who is also Matabeleland South Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution has called on party supporters to unite and vote for the revolutionary party in their numbers on elections day to ensure the Second Republic gets another mandate to carry forward with Vision 2030 inclined projects.
He said already, the Government led by President Mnangagwa had covered ground in implementing high impact programmes in short space of time.
These he said included, dams and roads construction, rural transformation, agriculture and irrigation development, urban renewal, devolution and ICT development.
Cde Ncube said some high impact projects in Beitbridge included the US$300 million border modernisation, construction of a 5,1km dual carriageway linking the port of entry and the major highway to Bulawayo and Harare, the construction of 220 houses for border workers.
Others included the building of a new fire station, new clinics, schools, and an animal plant and quarantine centre in Beitbridge and construction of the Tuli-Manyange Dam in Gwanda district.
Cde Ncube was speaking during a Zanu PF campaign rally in Penemene, Ward 4 in Beitbridge East constituency yesterday.
“It is very critical that you vote for Zanu PF which is a revolutionary party with people at heart and we will ensure that we continue on the national development trajectory which has been set by President Mnangagwa, as we drift towards attaining the envisaged Vision 2030.”
He said it was very critical that all members of Zanu PF including the veterans of the liberation struggle, women’s league, and youth league go out in their numbers working in unity and campaigning for the party to win.
Cde Ncube said the revolutionary party was now stronger than before and that they want to take everything that is on offer during the harmonised elections in August.
He also lauded President Mnangagwa for initiating the programme to expeditiously process title deeds for most properties nationwide.
“We are done with primary elections and its time for us to unite and consolidate our power on the ground so that there is continuity in our ongoing projects implementation,” he said.
“There are a lot of major projects across the country which the government has been rolling out and we have made good progress”.
The politburo member also commended the Beitbridge community for sticking with Zanu PF since the days of the liberation struggle.
He said since independence, the party had not lost any parliamentary seat to opposition political parties and urged them to maintain that route.
Beitbridge East legislator and candidate, Cde Albert Nguluvhe said Zimbabweans had another opportunity to vote for the right candidates who could deliver.
“We need to vote for Zanu PF which has already set the tone for Zimbabwe’s transformation,” he said.
“Under our leadership, we will continue to bring back people-centred services delivery. Let’s encourage every registered voter to cast their votes for our candidates”.
Beitbridge Senator, Cde Tambudzani Mohadi said Zanu PF was the vanguard of the country’s founding values, hence people should rally behind it in their numbers during election time.
“Unity and cooperation is very critical for the party to win elections. I also want to advise our supporters that they must not be divided or be confused by the delimitation boundaries. They must vote for our party and its candidates so that we win with a huge margin on August 23,” said Cde Ruth Maboyi who is current Beitbridge West Member of Parliament and Deputy Home Affairs Minister.
