Vice President Dr Constantino Chiwenga has arrived in Masvingo to preside over the official opening of the Construction Industry Federation of Zimbabwe (CIFZ) Congress.

The congress has drawn key stakeholders from across the industry, including Government officials, construction firms and international partners.

Themed “Building Smarter: Advancing Innovation and Efficiency for a Sustainable Future,” the congress aims to address pressing issues facing the construction industry, including infrastructure development, investment opportunities, and technological advancements.

VP Chiwenga’s presence reinforces the Government’s commitment to revitalising the construction sector, which plays a critical role in the country’s development.

CIFOZ former president, Engineer Ephraim Gwindingwi talked about the growth of the construction sector.

“Our sector is more than just bricks and mortar; it is the bedrock of our nation’s economic development.

“We have witnessed a notable upswing in construction activity, driven by a renewed focus on both public and private sector projects.

“A key driver of this growth has been the Government’s ambitious infrastructure development agenda,” said Engineer Gwindingwi.
