VP Mohadi for Mutharika inauguration

Vice President Kembo Mohadi will this morning leave for Malawi to attend the inauguration of President Peter Mutharika.
President Mutharika, who was declared winner of the ruling Democratic Progress Party (DPP) after garnering 38,6 percent of the total vote, will be inaugurated today.

He was sworn into office immediately after the announcement of the election results on Monday.
He beat Mr Lazarus Chakwera of the main opposition Malawi Congress Party (Malawi Congress Party) who got 35,6 percent.
The country’s Vice President Mr Saulos Chilima, who quit the DPP last year, was in third position with 20,2 percent.

President Mutharika is an international and constitutional law expert who studied at the University of London and Yale University.
